Vaikuntha Perumal Temple

Built by the Pallava king Nandivarman II (720-96 CE), with later contributions from Medieval Cholas and Vijayanagara kings.

Vaikuntha Perumal Temple is a Vishnu temple located in Kanchipuram (kancheepuram). This temple is one of the 108 'Divya Desam' dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. This temple is also called the Tiru Parameswara Vinnagaram.

'Divya Desams' ,(sacred/special places), refer to the 108 Vishnu temples that are mentioned in the works of the Tamil Azhvars (saints). of the 108 places 16 are in Kanchipuram.
