The fishhook barrel cactus (Ferocactus wislizeni) can be identified by its thick , barrel shaped body and long hooked spines.
A common cactus in the deserts of south-central Arizona and northern Sonora, Mexico.
Life span is well over 50 years, some as long as 100 years.
