Though humble in size compared to the much popular Bekal Fort, located 14km south, the views from Chandragiri fort is spectacular. Militiraly, this fort was far more strategic ( overlooking the Arabian sea and Chandragiri River, that separated erstwhile Tulunadu with the erstwhile Kolathunadu) than the Bekal Fort.
