Those legendary weighing machines were manufactured by that equally legendary Liverpool based company called Henry Pooley and Son Limited (CE 1700s-1913). That fresh coat of post-office red could misguide the age of the machine. The vintage of these machines could be at least a hundred years, a remanence of the colonial era.
