Belongs to the ginger family, I saw this flower first in Munnar many years back, and now in Coorg.

Known by many local names like, torch ginger, ginger flower, red ginger lily, torch flower, torch lily, wild ginger, combrang, kecombrang, Philippine wax flower, goda olu, goda nelum, Siddhartha, Indonesian tall ginger, boca de dragón, rose de porcelaine, and porcelain rose.

My favourite choice is porcelain rose, that exactly describes the flower's appearance.

Scientifically called Etlingera elatior, this is a herbaceous perennial plant in the ginger family (Zingiberaceae) native to southeast asia.
