Tughlakabad

One of the seven cities of Delhi. Legend has it that anyone make a city in Delhi would eventually fall out of power, the last example being New Delhi by the English.

In the 1320 CE Ghiasuddin Tughlak known as a headstrong tyrant in history built the Tughlakabad city in the outskirts of the present day New Delhi.

Now Tughlakabad fortification is a sprawling ruins.

Chandragiri Fort

Chandragiri Fort

Though humble in size compared to the much popular Bekal Fort, located 14km south, the views from Chandragiri fort is spectacular. Militiraly, this fort was far more strategic ( overlooking the Arabian sea and Chandragiri River, that separated erstwhile Tulunadu with the erstwhile Kolathunadu) than the Bekal Fort.

Payaswini

Payaswini

Payaswini also called Paachini in Tulu and Malayalam. This river is considered as the traditional boundary between Kolathunadu and Thulunadu. In Kasaragod the river is called Chandragiri river.

Sringeri

Sringeri

Sringeri also called Sri Kshetra Shringeri is a hill town and Taluk headquarters located in Chikkamagaluru district in Karnataka, It is the site of the first maṭha (Sringeri Sharada Peetham) established by Adi Shankara, Hindu theologian and exponent of the Advaita Vedanta philosophy, in the 8th century CE. It is located on the banks of the river Tungā .

Temple Bull in Sringeri

It is believed that Lord Shiva gifted the crystal Chandramouleeshwara Linga to Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Bull is symbolically associated with Siva.

Sharada Temple

The Sharadamba Temple at Sringeri (Shringa giri in Sanskrit) is an 8th-century temple, founded by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. It housed a sandalwood statue of Shardamba in a standing posture, which was installed by Adi Shankarachaya until the Vijayanagara rulers and Sri Vidyaranya (12th Jagadguru) installed a seated gold statue of Sri Shardamba in the 14th century.

Malik Dinar

Malik Dinar

This is a historic mosque in Kerala built in the traditional architecture style. It contains the grave of Malik Ibn Mohammed, one of the descendants of Malik Ibn Dinar. This place is an important pilgrimage center.

The mosque is at the top of a laterite cliff that overlooks the river mouth and the sea beyond.
